Neurodivergence

Therapy that works with your brain, not against it

Whether you're diagnosed, self-identified, or simply exploring whether ADHD, autism, or another form of neurodivergence explains a lot about how you experience the world, therapy can meet you there.

A lot of therapy assumes a certain kind of brain — one that finds it easy to sit still, follow a routine, or read social cues without effort. When that's not how your brain works, standard advice can leave you feeling like you're failing at things that were never designed for you.

This is a strengths-based, affirming approach: the goal isn't to make you less neurodivergent. It's to build support and systems that actually fit how you think, feel, and function.

What this can look like

  • Executive functioning struggles — starting tasks, time blindness, disorganization
  • Sensory sensitivities that affect daily comfort
  • Masking that leaves you exhausted, especially in social settings
  • Emotional intensity or dysregulation that feels hard to explain to others
  • A late diagnosis, or wondering if you'd meet criteria for one
  • Relationships strained by differences in communication style

How therapy can help

  • Therapy is adapted to how you process information — direct, concrete, and paced to what actually works for you.
  • ACT helps build a life around your actual needs and values, rather than a neurotypical template.
  • IFS supports the exhaustion and shame that can come from years of masking or being misunderstood.

Every plan is built around you — modalities are chosen and adjusted together as therapy progresses, not applied as a fixed formula.
